Santa’s cleared for travel, according to MDOT

JACKSON, Mississippi (WDAM) – Before delivering presents to children and adults around the world, Santa Claus made sure that his sleigh was “all right” to stop in Mississippi.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced Friday that St. Nick has met all permit and airspace requirements to travel with reindeer through Mississippi on Christmas Eve.

According to MDOT, Santa’s oversized sleigh load passed inspection, permission was given to bags of gifts that exceeded the weight limit, and Rudolph’s nose was super bright and met all lighting requirements. Takeoff and landing at children’s homes listed on the “nice list” were permitted.

MDOT Executive Director Brad White said: “Santa shares our passion for safe driving, whether in cars, trucks or sleighs. stay away from ”

In addition, MDOT has awarded Santa with a travel permit, officially allowing all modes of transportation within Magnolia State for the Holiday Weekend to have unrestricted access to “The Big Guy.”

After sunset on Christmas Eve, it is recommended to drive slowly and watch out for sleighs (especially reindeer).
