Funviralpark One of the best things about The Big Easy is the food. And for the Alabama Crimson Tide, who will be visiting New Orleans for his bowl of sugar in 2022, food is one of his most notable aspects of the experience so far.
On Tuesday morning, five members of the Crimson Tide met with reporters for the first time after practice. At all five meetings each brought out a side of food.
First up was linebacker Dallas Turner, who said food was already piercing his heart, even though he had only been in New Orleans for two days.
“I love food,” Turner said. “food [is] Really good. The culture here — I like the culture here in New Orleans. […] I feel like I’ve tried almost everything, but there’s still room to spare. I’m still looking for some more food so that’s all I know. ”
Running back Roydell Williams took his answers on food to the next level, citing a particular restaurant he and his teammates enjoyed Monday night.
“I had a good meal last night,” Williams said. “Central City BBQ. [sighs] good food. great food. […] I still have to look around. I will go today and see if I can find something different. ”
Gumbo, jambalaya and seafood are just the beginning of a long list of cuisines that the city of New Orleans specializes in. Add in the dishes the region is known for, such as barbecue, crayfish, and alligator, and you have a wide range of great dishes to choose from.
Place kicker Will Reichard tried the unique dishes on his second visit to the Big Easy.

“Last night I went for jambalaya pasta,” said Reichhardt. “One of the things he has here is the food. I’ve only been here once in my life. I’ve heard about it.
Not all the players who met with reporters on Tuesday had tried the food yet. Cooking was an escape for the player in preparation for his Tide matchup against the Kansas Wildcats at Crimson on Saturday (11 a.m., ESPN).
Offensive lineman JC Latham revealed he hasn’t had Cajun food yet, but he’s definitely going to try some before he leaves town.
“Actually, I’ve never had Cajun food,” Latham said. “But I’m going in. There might be some seafood. I heard it’s pretty good here.”
And defensive back DeMarco Helams has a special dish he wants to eat before Saturday’s game.
“I think I’ll try gumbo,” said Helams. “I’ve never had New Orleans gumbo.”
