The NFL’s Tennessee Titans delayed their scheduled noon CT game by an hour due to a rolling blackout in the area caused by winter storms and brutal cold.
“Due to extreme weather and power outages affecting our region, kickoff for today’s game has been postponed by one hour to 1:00 PM CT,” the Titans said in a statement.
“This decision was made in partnership with the NFL, Emergency Management Agency, Nashville Electrical Service, and the Mayor’s Office with the utmost care to ensure that the game does not adversely affect our community in any way.” We are exploring all possibilities to minimize unnecessary power in the surrounding area.”

About 250,000 customers were without power in Tennessee and more than 380,000 customers in North Carolina were without power as of 11 a.m. ET on Saturday, according to the website PowerOutage.US.
