Upper West Side (WABC) — Asylum seekers in Manhattan received a special Christmas celebration on Sunday.

Hosts inside the SAJ Synagogue on the Upper West Side provided South American food and music, and Christmas gifts for both children and adults.

From the desire to deliver even a little happiness to those who had a difficult year.

“Another important element of this party is that most people in this room do not have access to hot food. They are staying in shelters. They are staying in hotel rooms with the whole family. It’s a home-cooked meal,” said Alison Spitz of the SAJ Synagogue.

Team TLC, which has been helping migrants off the bus in Port Authority, also helped organize the event.
