Investment from Sandy Hill goes to frozen food company, importer

Locust Valley, New York. — Sandy Hill Investors made minority investments in Sviroli Foods, Inc. and Vertullo Imports, LLC.

Based in Garden City, New York, Seviroli Foods manufactures frozen pasta and other food products for foodservice, clubs, and grocery/retail channels. The product range includes chef-inspired and artisanal pastas, sauces and Italian desserts. The company began as a pastry shop in Queens in 1960 when Joseph Seviroli Sr. bought a machine from Italy and began making products, including tortellini, which were not common in New York at the time. .

Vertullo Imports, Garden City imports 150 items from 19 countries. Products include pasta, rice, sauces, oils, truffles and other fresh and frozen foods. Vertullo supplies products not only to Seviroli, but also to third-party food service, retail and e-commerce customers.

Joseph Seviroli Jr., owner of Seviroli Foods, and Paul Vertullo, Chief Operating Officer of Seviroli Foods and Vertullo Imports, will continue to run the company and have ownership of the new partnership. In addition to Sandy Hill’s stake, Mill Point Capital has made significant investments. Sandy Hill will join the Board of Directors of the new post-merger company.
