Palma Heights, Ohio — A local food pantry seeks help to keep its shelves stocked.

Anne George Food Pantry was formerly known as Palma Heights Food Pantry. Named after the Pantry founder who passed away last year.

News 5 spoke with an assistant director who contacted us about what they were up against.

She says the high cost of groceries is the main reason pantries are running out of food.

“Food prices and fruit prices. Everything has skyrocketed and people are not making that much money. Because our shelves are very empty and used to be full,” said assistant director Joan Fertel.

The pantry especially needs canned goods, but also accepts gift cards and cash donations.

The Pantry is located at 6369 Pearl Road, Palma Heights. The phone number is 440-842-6491.
