Why Naviva, Four Seasons’ Adults-Only And All-Inclusive Tented Resort, Should Top Your 2023 Travel List

When my car pulled up at the entrance to Naviva, I found a small group waiting. did not feel Thankfully, the general manager of the resort, Ronnie Fernandez, was very accommodating. Instead of the Four Seasons’ usual polite welcome in regards to the layout and amenities of the lodgings, he walks over an impressive cocoon-like bamboo-wrapped bridge, where I spend the next three nights. He guided me to Tent 8.

Opening December 1st, Naviva is an adults-only, all-inclusive tented resort by Four Seasons set on 48 lush and secluded acres in Punta Mita. Advertised as a premier glamping experience with world-class service you’d expect from a hospitality brand, Naviva is more than meets the eye.

Unlike other resorts that put you under pressure to schedule everything in advance, Naviva encourages you to move at your own leisurely pace. No reservations are required, including dining at the resort’s open-air restaurant and lounge, Copal His Cochina. Please drop by anytime. Watch Chef Sofia Barrera and her incredibly warm team cook on the wood-burning grill. (There is always fresh fish available, which is a plus in the book.) If you are not satisfied with what they prepare, feel free to request something else. For example, last night I didn’t want to eat carnitas. As usual, I had pizza on my mind. After a while, a pie with a hot thin pie dough layered with fragrant sauce and chunks of melted cheese arrived. The bar is flexible and cozy, and happy to pour whatever you want to try – here I discovered the exquisite Rey Sol Anejo – or shake up a ready-to-use cocktail to your liking.

Based on your interests, Naviva also offers a range of activities covered in all-inclusive prices, including select 60-minute spa treatments, sacred polar hatha yoga, Reiki healing, and Seacuterie. For an additional fee, you can sweat it out at the resort’s House of Heat Temazcal, or take your self-care to the next level with a 5-hour Refuge Retreat that includes a full-body cleansing ritual, mud massage, gemstone facial, and outdoors. Shower, soak in the deep wooden tub, and have a nourishing lunch in his one of two cozy spa pods.

But the best thing about Naviva is peace and solitude. I love my Brooklyn apartment, but the noise bothers me day and night. I got so used to the never-ending urban soundtrack that I almost forgot how blissful absolute silence is. The only sounds from the tent were the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean and the chirping of birds in the sky. And while I was friendly with a few other guests, Naviva was limited to 30 guests for privacy and exclusivity. When I saw them at Copal, I was mostly alone. I could have gone to a private beach, hiked a trail, or soaked in a serva pool, but it didn’t feel like it. was all there.
