Travel nightmare leaves people stranded

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — Airlines including Southwest Airlines are trying to get back on track after numerous weather-related delays and cancellations over the weekend.

The result was a domino effect as the plane wasn’t where it should be. Luggage was also difficult.

A traveler recovered a package containing all his Christmas presents. Others are not so lucky. Many people are stuck here with their clothes on.

“Literally as they say, we come with our clothes on our backs and that’s it. in the southwest,” said traveler Giovanni Mateucci

He said he would have to go shopping for clothes for two days without his luggage.

“We are hopeful, but not sure what the outcome will be. We are still waiting,” says Giovanni.

Colorado Springs is gearing up to keep southwestern flyers from rescheduling until the New Year.

Some who tried to fly out on Monday turned to rental cars instead. Steve Kroll-Smith says he hopes his 18-hour drive to New Orleans is faster than a plane.

“I’m driving to Pueblo tomorrow, and there’s a car rental there that you can rent one way,” Smith said.

Southwest Airlines’ online customer service is down, and all three have experienced heavy traffic, causing calls to drop and app support to crash. So people were forced to wait in line for hours.

One mother said her 13-year-old son was stranded at Denver International Airport trying to get home.

“We didn’t give him a place to go, we didn’t help him rebook flights, nothing,” Tracci Music says. was.”

Music had to pick him up at 1am but didn’t have his checked luggage.

“I couldn’t imagine what happened as a mother if I hadn’t been around,” Music says.
