Travel ban continues in Buffalo

3rd update: tuesday night, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown tweeted:

“Buffalo City Hall will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday) as we continue to open roads and restore power to residents. A driving ban remains in effect in the City of Buffalo.”

Second update: Then Tuesday morning Erie County Administrator Mark Polonkers tweeted::

• “Update: Lackawanna’s driving ban has been changed to an advisory. Buffalo’s driving ban is still in effect.”

• “Regarding the opening of Buffalo Street, @ErieCountyDPW, @NYSDOT and Bflo have primary resources, but snow cannot be plowed. It has to be scooped up, loaded onto a dump truck and dumped elsewhere. On all city roads it takes him about two days to open one lane. ”

update: around 7am on Tuesday morning, Erie County Executive Mark Polonkers tweeted an update on his upcoming trip.

“As of 7 a.m., we can announce that the driving ban has been lowered to Cheektowaga’s recommendation. Bans remain in place in the cities of Buffalo and Lackawanna. The entire county of Erie remains in a state of emergency.”

monday evening, Erie County Executive Mark Polonkers tweeted an update on his upcoming trip.

• “The driving ban will be lifted at 7pm in the town of Amherst. Buffalo, Lackawanna and Cheektowaga will not be lifted during the night. Lackawanna and Cheektowaga will revisit in the morning. Buffalo will continue until tomorrow .”

• “As of 5 p.m., we have lifted the driving ban on the towns and villages of Hamburg, the village of Blasdell, and the towns of Clarence. The driving advisory remains for all municipalities not under a driving ban. It remains in a state of affairs.”
