The Top Cities Americans Want To Move To (They’re Affordable)

It’s no secret that rising home prices in major markets and increased remote work have changed U.S. travel patterns with people seeking the most affordable places to live in the U.S.

Recent data shows that 24.1% of US homebuyers are considering moving to another metropolitan area, according to real estate broker Redfin.com. This is up from about 18% in 2019.

So where are Americans interested in going? The Redfin report analyzed the top U.S. cities where people want to live, and the results may surprise you.

Where do Americans most want to live right now? Sacramento, California. Sacramento home prices are a big part of the appeal, according to Redfin. Most of the homebuyers come from the San Francisco Bay Area, where the typical home price is his $1.5 million. That’s three times his in Sacramento, where the average home price is his $540,000.

Second on the list is Las Vegas, where buyers can get bigger homes for much less money. In Las Vegas, the typical home price is $410,000, while the Los Angeles average is $823,000. “Las Vegas remains popular with suburban buyers, especially those seeking lower prices from coastal areas such as San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle,” said Redfin agent Tsahi Alberi.

Thanks to the low cost of real estate, five Florida locations were included in the list: Miami (#3 on the Redfin list), Tampa (#4), Cape Coral (#7), and Northport Sarasota (#9). ), Orlando (number 10).

Overall, the Sunbelt is the big winner, with every state on the list coming from the region.
