ORLANDO, Fla. — Some travel issues are worsening at Orlando International Airport.

More flights have been delayed or canceled due to severe winter storms.

Airport leaders said travelers should check flight status before heading to OIA.

As of Thursday morning, 10 flights have been delayed and 22 canceled.

A strong winter storm is affecting one of the biggest migration days of the year.

Thursday should be the seventh busiest day of the travel season.

The lines at the security checkpoint inside the OIA were long on Thursday morning. The airport is expected to have a total of 158,000 people throughout the day.

This is because blizzard conditions are making things even worse for travelers in the Midwest.

The National Weather Service calls it a “once in a generation” storm.

Power outages are likely in the next few days and expect a growing list of cancellations.

In Chicago, people are being asked to avoid the roads altogether.
