Funviralpark Lakeshore areas along the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula are expected to bear the brunt of the storm, with several areas under blizzard warnings through Saturday night.
According to the National Weather Service, these areas will most likely see 8 inches or more of snow, with some areas likely to see 1 foot or more.
Central and eastern Michigan, on the other hand, can see 3 to 8 inches of blizzards.
A blizzard of 6 to 8 inches is likely for the metropolitan area, and a winter storm warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday.
Strong winds of 40 to 50 miles per hour are expected across much of the state, forecasters say, making travel difficult regardless of location. The strongest winds are likely on Friday.
NWS recommended completing the move by Thursday evening. Weather forecasters warn that some trips may be dangerous or even impossible during storms.

NWS also warned that some power outages are likely.
Weather is expected to improve on Sunday, but sub-zero temperatures are expected to persist through at least Wednesday.
