Freezing Weather Could Impact Holiday Travel

Corpus Christi, Texas – With sub-zero temperatures on the horizon, Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) is advising travelers to be aware of how cold weather can affect their travels, and has implemented measures to ensure a comfortable experience for our guests. We are preparing.

CCIA urges travelers to monitor flight conditions and prepare for possible delays. CCIA will post flight delays and cancellations on the flight information screen of its website (www.flyccia.com). We also highly recommend downloading the respective airline’s app to get the latest up-to-date flight status and easily rebook flights without having to come to the airport or wait.

Consider possible road hazards and provide enough time to reach the airport. Due to the expected heavy traffic, we have expanded the overflow parking area in the long-term parking lot. CCIA will provide passengers with complimentary coffee and hot chocolate from Friday, December 23 through Sunday, December 25, until 12:00 PM on the first flight.

Moisture levels are monitored which may indicate runway and taxiway contaminants. CCIA staff are alert for leaks, burst pipes, slippery sidewalks, low temperatures inside the terminal, or other hazards.

If you have any questions regarding the operation of CCIA, please contact us using the inquiry form on our website.
