Funviralpark Delta was North America’s most timely major airline in 2022, according to an annual ranking by flight data provider Cirium.
Delta’s on-time performance was 84.1%, followed by Alaska in second place with 81.4% on-time performance.
Cirium uses DOT definitions on time. That is, all flights that arrived within 15 minutes of their schedule.
After years of being on-time and on-time, Hawaiian Airlines didn’t fly enough flights to make it into the Cirium rankings. But the Honolulu-based airline has been on time 87.7 percent of the time so far this year, according to FlightAware data.
Delta had problems before they took the top spot in the Cirium rankings. Delta domestic flights, including Delta Connection branded regional flights, were on time 80.7% of the time in the first half of the year, according to DOT data. But his career performance has improved sharply since, including his 88.5% on-time performance in September, the most recent month the DOT released the data.
United was the third most timely airline with 81.26%, followed by American (78.77%), Southwest (74.68%), Frontier (68.99%), JetBlue (67.13%) and Allegiant (66.49%). . Spirits are not included in the ranking.
Canadian airlines WestJet and Air Canada occupy the bottom of the ranking. WestJet is on schedule 60.66% of his time this year. Air Canada’s on-time performance rate is 55.56%.
Overall, 71.91% of North American flights arrived on time this year. The statistics used by Cirium for their annual rankings will run until December 15th.
