Funviralpark Savannah, GA (WTOC) – If you’ve ever driven on the highway, you’ve noticed that many people hit the road.
The official Christmas holiday travel period doesn’t end until midnight Monday, as many people head home after the Christmas weekend.
The WTOC caught up with people running out of gas at a rest stop on Interstate 95. They were coming from everywhere.
People from North Carolina, Massachusetts and Montreal.
They all said there were some rough patches, especially on I-95, and gave similar descriptions of what it was like on the road.
“When I got on the 95, I was like, ‘Wow!’ and mercy, we said our prayers and we’ll have a good time anyway. .
“Today is fine. 95 is a stop and go,” said traveler Pat Stilwell.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, there were 9 road traffic deaths in the state during this vacation, but none in our area.
They recommend driving carefully and paying attention to your surroundings. Especially when it gets dark..
