In order to return to Southern California on January 2nd, RTC has instructed us not to travel southbound on Interstate 15 near the state line from 8am to 7pm.

Higher-than-normal traffic is expected from the border to I-15 Southbound from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 3, and less traffic is expected along the Jan. 4 stretch. expected.

For public transport, RTC buses run on Saturdays from December 24-26 and December 31-January. 2.

RTC will also offer free bus rides on all traffic routes on New Year’s Eve from 6:00 pm December 31st to 9:00 am January 1st. Passengers can ride any bus during that time without purchasing a pass or paying a fee.

Those departing Leeds Airport on vacation should be prepared for longer-than-usual wait times during pre-flight screening and baggage inspection.

Airport officials recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours before your scheduled departure time, and suggest allowing extra time if you plan to park at the airport.

Traffic on airport roads will be higher than usual due to the expected increase in travelers. Expect delays for drivers heading to both the departure curb and passenger pickup.

Many of the airport’s car parks are also full, including long-term parking in Terminal 1 and economy lots in Terminal 3. The customer will be redirected to an available parking facility, although rates may differ from his two parking garages above.

Airport officials advised us not to waste time parking in the terminal 3 long-term parking lot.

Travelers without checked baggage can pass through the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint in Terminal 3 and take the tram to the departure gate.

Travelers who need to check in baggage at Terminal 1 can use the shuttle to and from the terminal. Shuttles are located at level zero of both terminals and run every 15 minutes.

Be prepared for security checkpoints with proper identification and boarding pass, and do not pack or carry prohibited items. Please visit www.tsa.gov for the latest security checkpoint policies and procedures.

More travelers mean more demand for restaurants at airports and longer wait times.
