Austin, TX — Texas AA &M University student who went missing more than a week ago has been found dead, police said.

The video above is from an earlier report.

The body of 22-year-old Tanner Huang was found in Austin on Saturday, a spokesperson for the College Station Police Department told ABC News.

ABC News has reached out to Austin Police for more information.

Authorities said Hoang was last seen on the morning of December 16. His family was due to attend college station school for the graduation ceremony and reported that he was missing because he did not show up for lunch before the ceremony.

“He was supposed to graduate, but I don’t know what happened to make him leave,” his uncle, Bao Huang, told ABC Waco affiliate KXXV earlier this week.

The student’s mobile phone was turned off, making it difficult to track him, family members said.

His car was found unattended in Austin on Thursday after it was spotted on video several times, according to Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the car was found on Highway 360 along the Colorado River at Pennybucker’s bridge near the Overlook.

Volunteers organized a search in the area on Saturday, and the community was urged to take precautions due to frigid temperatures and rugged terrain on Christmas Eve. We asked for it to be canceled,” the organizers said in an update Saturday afternoon.

Juan’s uncle called the disappearance “uncharacteristic”.

“He’s always there to help,” the uncle told KXXV. “Whenever I came back to Texas or his grandparents needed help, he was there. Whenever his parents needed help, he was always at family gatherings. Appeared.”

“That’s why I can’t believe he would leave without informing us,” he added.

During the search for Mr. Huang, his family told him to go home.

“We love you, Tanner. God loves you,” the uncle told KXXV. “If you receive this message or any messages sent to you on Facebook, please go home immediately.”

“I hope he’s okay,” he continued. “I hope everything comes to a conclusion of reuniting with the family.”
