Update on Friday, December 23rd at 2pm: Stay off Interstate 94 as crashes and snowstorm conditions worsen, state police say
BERYEN COUNTY, Michigan — Michigan State Police reported two major collisions on Friday, Dec. 23 in the same area on the eastbound side of Interstate 94.
The second collision also occurred near Mile Marker 41 in Watervliet Township and involved seven passenger vehicles.
No major injuries were reported in either crash, Lieutenant Duwayne Robinson confirmed to MLive.
Police have released video footage of the first clash that occurred around 9:30 am on Friday. The east side of the highway remains closed as of 12:25 p.m., Robinson said.
Michigan police reported multiple closures Friday morning related to clashes along Interstate 94, including in Burien, Van Buren, Kalamazoo and other locations in Calhoun counties.

Police are asking all drivers to seek alternative routes until the roads are reopened.
They are also urging people to reconsider travel today unless absolutely necessary.
