The son and daughter of Brazilian football legend Pele posted a touching tribute and photo of their father spending Christmas at the Albert Einstein Jewish Hospital in São Paulo on Instagram.

“We are here with a fight and a belief. One more night together,” Kelly Nascimento wrote on Friday.

Her words were accompanied by a photo of her hugging her father as he lay in a hospital bed. Pele’s granddaughter Sofia is also in the picture.

She also shared a photo she took with her brother, Brazilian footballer and coach Edinho, who arrived at the hospital on Christmas Eve. He held it and wrote, “Father… my power is yours.”

Since then, the hospital has not released an update on Pele’s condition.

Nascimento has previously thanked its backers for their messages of appreciation and support.

“Christmas at home has been interrupted,” Nascimento wrote in Wednesday’s post. “For various reasons, we have decided with our doctors that it would be better to stay (in the hospital) while receiving all the care this new family…Einstein is giving us!!” added Nascimento.

After Pele was hospitalized in November, Nascimento said the former footballer had Covid-19 despite being vaccinated “at all doses” and that chemotherapy had made him more vulnerable. He explained that he had a lung infection.
