Patriots rookie Marcus Jones out vs. Dolphins due to concussion

Foxborough, Massachusetts — New England Patriots rookie Marcus Jones has sparked as a triple threat at cornerback, receiver and kickoff/punt returner, but due to a concussion, the visiting Miami Dolphins will not play in Sunday’s important game against , the team announced.

Jones was officially ruled out on Friday after not practicing for a week. After recovering from the concussion, the concussion protocol was entered. .

Jones was one of four players the Patriots left out in Sunday’s game, including fellow rookie cornerback Jack Jones (knee), starting receiver Devante Parker (concussion), and No. 2 tight end Johnne Smith ( concussion).

In addition to missing two rookies, starting cornerback Jonathan Jones has been restricted to practice all week with a chest injury and is listed as questionable. Third-year player Myles Bryant (5.9 feet, 185) and second-year player Sean Wade (6-1, 191) are the only healthy cornerbacks on the active roster.

The Patriots have until 4 p.m. ET on Saturday to add reinforcements and could promote practice team cornerbacks Quandre Moseley and Te Hayes.
