A Texas A&M University student went missing and was found dead on the day of his college graduation more than a week ago, police said.
The body of 22-year-old Tanner Huang was found Saturday in Austin, ABC News reported. Juan was last seen on the morning of December 16 at The Trails at Wolf Penn Apartment Complex in College Station.
The family of a mechanical engineering student reported that he went missing when he failed to show up for a pre-graduation celebration.
Austin police told KVUE that a body was found near the Pennybacker Bridge on Saturday, but could not confirm if it belonged to Juan.
On Friday, a silver 2009 Lexus in Juan was spotted near Highway 360 and the Pennybacker Bridge Overlook Trail on the Colorado River. It appears he was driving west on Highway 21 after filling up with gas at Shell Station in nearby Caldwell.
“He was supposed to graduate, but I don’t know what happened to make him leave,” his uncle Bao Huang told ABC Waco affiliate KXXV.
“I think the last thing we know for sure is that he was on [Highway] Car 21 picks up gas and heads west away from Bryan/College Station,” he added.
A Facebook group titled Finding Tanner Huang, which has amassed more than 14,000 followers, confirmed the news of his death Saturday night.
“Tanner was found dead near the Pennybacker Bridge on Loop 360 this afternoon,” wrote group administrator Michael C. Miller.
According to Miller, there was no foul play involved in Juan’s death.
“The Tanner family wants everyone to know how much we appreciate their help.
