Mac Jones continues to pay fines.

The Patriots, starting quarterback, were fined two totals of $23,976 for needless rowdy conduct during New England’s 22-18 loss to the Bengals. Jones had previously been fined for unsportsmanlike conduct against the Bills earlier this month.

One fine last Sunday came after Jones completed a questionable play by falling to the ground in front of Cincinnati cornerback Eli Apple in a potential fumble return. Apple called the action “dirty,” but Jones later said he lay on the ground in hopes of blocking Apple’s path.

“Everyone has an opinion. The biggest thing for me is to focus on being the best teammate I can be and earn the respect of the people in this building and the people I care about. “We all play hard and aim to win.”

The quarterback was also fined for roughly trying to recover Ramondre Stevenson’s lost fumble in the fourth quarter of the game.

Jones has been frequently criticized for his in-game demeanor throughout the season, with Patriots legends like Julian Edelman and Vince Wilfork tearing the 24-year-old up.

The quarterback’s team is 7-8 and is currently searching for the final wildcard spot in the AFC. New England will play an important game against the Dolphins on Sunday.
