Homicide suspect taken into custody along I-25 south of Colorado Springs

El Paso County, Colorado (KKTV) – Southbound Interstate 25, south of Colorado Springs, was closed Wednesday due to police activity.

The closure was announced just before 3pm near the Ray Nixon Road exit.

Police officers were assisting in a situation that began in the Douglas County area on Wednesday, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Fountain police closed the freeway near mile marker 125, the Ray Nixon Road exit, and a suspect was detained, Lewis said.

A body was found Wednesday morning near S. Chambers Road and Digicomm Drive, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. This region lies southeast of Dove Valley. A suspect detained along I-25 was connected to the murder investigation and was arrested without incident.
