Gervonta Davis arrested, jailed on domestic violence charge

Boxer Gervonta Davis was arrested Tuesday in Parkland, Fla., and jailed on domestic violence charges for battery causing bodily harm, according to Broward County Sheriff’s Office records.

Davis is being held at the Broward County Main Prison Service in Fort Lauderdale and is scheduled to appear for a court hearing Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET, according to the prison. No bonds have been set.

Details of Davis’ arrest and the allegations against him were not available early Wednesday morning.

The 28-year-old Baltimore native will headline the PBC on Showtime PPV event against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7th in Washington, DC. The match is planned as a prelude to Ryan’s super fight with Garcia on April 25 in Las Vegas. Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) is a former 130-pound titleholder.

Davis is also scheduled to appear in Baltimore Circuit Court on Feb. 16 for alleged involvement in an unrelated hit-and-run incident in November 2020, according to court records.
