D.C. forecast: Cold Christmas Day with warmer temperatures on the way

4/10: I dream of a warm Christmas. The weather is sunny and unseasonably cold.

Temperatures will gradually rise as a high pressure system snakes overhead, and the weather pattern is fairly mild over the next week.

But it’s a few degrees warmer than yesterday and a little less windy. Tomorrow (Monday): A mostly clear morning sky gives way to increasing clouds in the afternoon as the low-pressure upper region approaches. Daytime highs are in the late to mid-30s and tend to be a little warmer.Still below average, but ingested after a few days of blistering cold. Tuesday and Wednesday Mostly sunny with a slight breeze. Temperatures continue to rise in stages, with Tuesday highs in his late 30s to his late 40s and Wednesday highs in his mid 40s. Tuesday night lows are in the 20s.Confidence: Medium to High
