Earlier this month we thought about Sean Payton and Tom Brady finally getting together with the Saints in 2023. While it remains unknown, the idea of Payton returning to the Saints once he coaches in 2023 is circulating in league circles.
A source with a firm grasp on the pulse of pro football told PFT that it’s currently the “worst-kept secret” in league circles.
It would still be amazing if that happened. Given all the different possibilities for 2023, Peyton and Brady could be the only place in 2022 that could end what nearly happened in Miami.
Brady will become a free agent at the end of the season. he can go anywhere Why is he not a saint? Why not team up with Peyton? Why not play his home game at the stadium where he won his first Super Bowl?
Payton isn’t going to Denver or Carolina, as sources said. If Dallas loses the opener of the playoffs and coach Mike McCarthy is fired, the only other potential destination would be the Cowboys.
And the only downside to Payton’s return to the Saints is that it will delay his quest to become the first coach in league history to win the Super Bowl with two different teams.
