Closures, cancellations, service disruptions ahead of Portland winter storm Thursday

Freezing temperatures, single-digit chills, and afternoon snow and sleet have forced these agencies and services to close their doors or cancel events ahead of storms coming Thursday and Friday, according to Portland forecasts. Revisit this post for updates throughout the day.

Portland Public Schools: All athletic activities after 3pm Thursday have been cancelled. All athletics have been canceled on Friday.

Portland Community College: All campuses close at 1:00 PM on Thursdays.

Clackamas Community College: Closes at noon on Thursdays.

Vancouver School District: All afternoon and evening activities are canceled from noon.

Centennial School District: Closed at noon. All afternoon and evening events are cancelled.

WSU Vancouver: Closed at noon. Closed until December 24th (Sat).

Linfield University: The Portland and McMinnville campuses will be closed at noon.

North Clackamas School District: All care services end at 12:30pm. All activities, schools and facilities close at 1:00 PM, including the Wichita Center food pantry and clothes closet.

Molalla River School District: All campuses close at 4pm. All athletics and activities are suspended.

Kemeketa Community College (Salem): Early release Thursday at 1pm. All afternoon and evening activities have been cancelled.

Clark College in Vancouver: All in-person and virtual services will end at 3 p.m. Thursday and will remain closed through Saturday, December 24.

West Lynn Wilsonville School District: All campuses close at 3pm. All activities scheduled after 3:00 PM will be cancelled.

Ride to Care: Non-urgent travel will be canceled after 3pm Thursday through Saturday, December 24th. For more information: 503-416-3955 or 855-321-4899.

Trimet: All buses and MAX are now operating on a regular schedule. Please visit trimet.org/alerts before departure for the latest information on delays, diversions and cancellations.

C-tran: Due to the expected inclement weather, The Vine will be served by 40 foot buses. Passengers must board at designated locations adjacent to each station. Check c-tran.com for the latest weather delays.

Oregon Department of Defense: Closed but working remotely. The Public Defense Resource Center (PDRC) at the Multnomah County Courthouse closed at 11:00 a.m. and will remain closed until Friday, December 23rd.

Columbia County Circuit Court: Ends Thursday at 3pm.

City of Hillsboro: All city facilities open to the public at 4pm.

City of Beaverton: All city buildings will close at 3pm and will be closed all day on Friday, December 23rd for in-person services. Essential and remote services will continue.

Clackamas Co. Circuit Court: Closes at 3pm and stays closed until Friday.

Grotto: Grotto’s Christmas Festival of Lights closes on Thursday nights. For more information and ticket refunds, visit thegroto.org.

Clackamas County Winter Fair: An event scheduled for Thursday night at the Canby Fairgrounds has been cancelled.
