Controversial internet personality Andrew Tate and his brother were ordered to spend a month in custody on Friday as prosecutors pursued human trafficking and rape allegations.

Romanian authorities said police issued search warrants at five homes on Thursday and detained four suspects, two British and two Romanian, as part of the investigation.

Romania’s Department of Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) said the four suspects were detained for the first 24 hours. A court in Bucharest has accepted his DIICOT application to detain Tate and his brother Tristan for an additional 30 days, their attorney Eugen Vidineac said Friday.

Speaking to journalists outside the court, Mr Bidinak said the decision would be appealed. No,” he added.

DIICOT alleged that the four suspects formed an organized crime group extending from Romania to the United Kingdom and the United States to commit crimes of human trafficking.

Authorities said two of the suspects transported the victims to Romania, where they subsequently sexually exploited them through physical violence and coercion, while “intending to enter into a marriage/cohabitation relationship.” I made you believe that,” he claims.

Authorities also said one of the suspects raped the victim twice in March 2022. At least six of her victims were allegedly “sexually exploited by organized crime groups,” according to DIICOT’s statement.

On Thursday, DIICOT released an edited, grainy, and sometimes unfocused video. We see a man being stroked by the police. It is unclear who is being detained in the video.

In another video aired by CNN affiliate Antenna 3, criminal gang cops can be seen escorting Andrew and Tristan Tate to a patrol car.

On Friday, Andrew Tate tweeted from his verified account, “The Matrix has sent an agent.”

Former professional kickboxer Andrew Tate is known for his viral online rants about male dominance, female submission, and wealth. He openly advocates violence against women and was banned from all major social media his platforms until he revived his Twitter account after Elon Musk took over the company.

He came to prominence earlier this year, with many adults, including schoolteachers, warning that his misogynistic ideas have taken root in the minds of countless boys. , his TikTok account had recorded about 11.6 billion views.

He made headlines this week with a Twitter exchange with Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who tweeted about the number of cars he owns and the “huge emissions of each,” after Tate told him to save his life.

Speculation was rife online that authorities had been warned that Tate was in Romania after one of the photos he posted during his altercation with Thunberg showed a particular pizza box.

But a DIICOT spokesman said the pizza box was not involved in the detention, according to Reuters.
