Three Texas Food Banks Make Forbes’ Top 100 Charities List

Three Texas food banks made the list. forbes Top 100 charities in the US. The North Texas Food Bank in Plano ranked him 87th, the El Paso Anne’s Fighting Hunger in Texas ranked him 73rd, and the San Antonio Food Bank ranked him 93rd.

Total revenue for the North Texas Food Bank last year was $247 million. Food bank fundraising efficiency and charity participation rates were also very high at 96% and 95%, respectively.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger in Texas had gross revenue of $264 million and San Antonio Food Bank revenue was $206 million.

Food banks have a significant presence on the 2022 Forbes list, highlighting food insecurity and the role food banks have played since the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

First place on the list went to Feeding America, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that operates a network of food banks in every county across the country. Their programs help feed children, the elderly, families, and survivors of natural disasters.

In addition to Feeding America’s entitlement, 10 of the listed food banks were affiliates of the organization, including the North Texas Food Bank.

Overall, the top 100 US charities received a combined $58.8 billion in individual giving. This is an 8% increase from last year. In countries with more than 1 million nonprofits, the top 100 received one-eighth of charitable donations. The cutoff for this year’s list – No. 100 – has increased from his $167 million in 2021 to his $181 million.
