Throughout the holiday season, the Food Network has showcased seasonal flavors and stories. When food and culture are fused and meaningful and flavorful conversations are exchanged, the dining table will be filled with rich deliciousness. On The Kwanzaa Menu, Tonya Hopkins and guests engage in meaningful and delicious conversations about her seven principles of the holiday.

At the Kwanzaa Menu, Hopkins and her guests showcase special dishes aligned with Kwanzaa’s seven principles. The principle is Umoja (Unity),
They are Kzhichaglia (self-determination), Uzima (collaboration and responsibility), Ujamaa (cooperative economics), Nia (purpose), Kumba (creativity) and Imani (faith).

Hopkins said: For centuries, the entire foodway of America. Deliberately adding fresh, naturally delicious and nutritious ingredients to each recipe to remind us of the culinary brilliance our ancestors brought to this new world and served in ways that have long contributed to vitality and longevity. I chose to ”

The cuisine is familiar yet creative when looking at the variety of food options. Good Deeds Greens may not look exactly like some people’s traditional recipes, but they taste familiar.

Other dishes such as black sable crow and cassava with peanut stew have a rich history. Even if they may not be part of many cooks’ repertoires, the holidays are also a time to expand not only that knowledge, but also the willingness to create modern twists on traditional dishes.

Finally, not all dishes have to be part of traditional Kwanzaa cuisine. For example, the Amazing Hibiscus Mulled Wine Kwanza Mimosa is everyone’s favorite cocktail on a winter night.

The Kwanzaa menu will premiere on FoodNewtork.com on Monday, December 26th.
