Monadnock Ledger-Transcript – Jaffrey Democrats make $500 donation to Jaffrey Food Bank

Jaffrey Democratic Committee Chairman Paul Robb recently presented the Jaffrey Food Bank with a $500 check.

Kathleen Larue, Director of Jaffrey Foodbanks, expressed her appreciation, saying, “On average, about 80 people visit our foodbanks per week, but that number is increasing, especially among older people. I am.”

The food bank is located at United Church in Jaffrey and is open Wednesdays from 4-6pm.

Jaffrey Democrats is an organization originally started in 2003 by Kevin Hampsey from Jaffrey, the late Tuck Gilbert and his wife Bobby Gilbert from Peterborough, the late Sandy and Nancy Isaac. We currently have about 150 members.

The group’s mission includes restoring responsible government, working towards a secure future, showing compassion for others, including by helping the elderly, and walking from the Jaffrey Center to Route 124’s 2 This includes participating in quarterly cleanups on the 1/2 mile stretch to help protect the environment. .

The Jaffrey Democratic Party’s monthly meeting is held at the First Church’s Community Hall at the Jaffrey Center. A full schedule can be found on the Jaffrey Democrats Facebook page. All registered Democrats and independents are invited to attend.
