Initially, staff thought everything inside would be ruined, but after investigating the damage on Monday, there is some good news. .

But other parts of the facility weren’t so lucky.

“For the most part, we expect bagged food to probably be a loss,” Ficklin said.

Much of their cat food and supplies are completely ruined, as is the material that was due to be used in a fundraiser early next year. Ficklin says it takes about a week to fully understand what was all lost.

About 120 households use pet food banks to feed their animals. The next distribution is scheduled for early January. Thankfully, Chewy, her girlfriend at the pet supply company, got in touch and helped make sure those families were taken care of.

Still, they are asking for more supplies to replenish what has been lost. Organizations ask if they would like to donate supplies or food to send a message on their Facebook page.
