The College Station-based foundation has made another major donation to the Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB).
According to a BVFB news release, they received an unsolicited and unrestricted gift of $300,000 from FW and the May Dean Wheeler Foundation.
This brings the Foundation’s total contribution to food banks to $800,000.
Meanwhile, BVFB continues to collect donations for a $100,000 matching gift challenge created by an anonymous supporter. The dollar-to-dollar opportunity continues through December 31st.

Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB) received an unsolicited and unrestricted donation of $300,000 from FW and the May Dean Wheeler Foundation on 12/21/22. Since 2019, the Wheeler Foundation has been a major supporter of the Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB), giving him $500,000 in three years. Yesterday’s donations brought the total donations to $800,000.
The Wheelers family were prominent Houstonians and had many real estate ventures in the Brazos Valley. A private foundation founded in 2008, The Wheeler Foundation is based in College Station, Texas and is headed by Donald A. Adam, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Adam Corporation/Group, as President and Chairman.
The Brazos Valley has been very generous to the Brazos Valley Food Bank (the recent KBTX-TV Food for Families food drive and BVFB’s successful Holiday Match direct mail campaign), but monetary donations are lower than at this time last year. It’s still getting less. Inflation has affected us all, but it’s really hurting those who are already facing hunger. is longer than just summer.
This gift is integral to the Brazos Valley Food Bank’s mission to solve hunger today and end hunger tomorrow. As president of the foundation, Adam hopes this gift will inspire others to support the Brazos Valley Food Bank this holiday season and beyond.
