Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV) – Vacationers continue to deal with flight disruptions over the Christmas weekend as thousands of flights were canceled.
At Nashville International Airport, the baggage claim area is littered with piles of luggage that has not been picked up from other airports. The owner did not arrive at the destination and has not been charged.
Nicole Wells of Gallatin has been looking for a package for six days.
“What makes no sense is that it should be here and if the first Nashville flight is canceled it should be in this sea of luggage,” Wells lamented Tuesday. “That was six days ago. Too many flights have arrived from Denver to Nashville. My luggage isn’t on. Why not?”
The four-letter word you hear most often in BNA is “mess.” Hundreds of bags and travel cases have arrived in Nashville.
A young traveler was looking forward to his first flight. Andreas still wonders what it means to fly. His family was scheduled to fly to California on Saturday, Christmas Eve. That flight never happened.
“Since then, our luck has gone downhill,” explained Andreas.
Why this happened has not yet been clarified.
Nicole Wells just wants to find her own luggage because so many people around her are doing the same.
