Colorado Springs, Colorado (KKTV) – Colorado Springs Airport experienced a number of delays and a total of 25 cancellations Wednesday through Friday, officials said.
This is due to winter weather affecting much of Colorado and the rest of the United States. 10,000 flights were delayed nationwide on Friday. Travelers say this poses a roadblock to vacation planning.
“Apparently there are no more flights, so we are trying to find someone to help us.”
Beatrice and Ivory Carpenter are from Pagosa Springs and were traveling to Houston to see their extended family for Christmas, but couldn’t make the connection because their first flight to Phoenix was delayed.
“We hadn’t seen our family side in over two years, so we were really looking forward to going and hopefully we can get there.”
Lori and Mike’s plans to visit their sons in Minneapolis were cut short.
“We were supposed to leave last night but it was cancelled. I found it out before heading to the airport.”
“Now we can only spend three days there. We have to be back by Monday because of the dog sitter.”
Authorities recommend checking in for your flight as soon as possible and signing up for text alerts to keep up with potential delays.
