It’s happening.
The Packers, who nearly died just a month ago, beat the Vikings 41-17 for their fourth straight win.
As a result, the Commanders and Saints were eliminated, leaving the Packers, Seahawks, and Lions for a final berth to the playoffs in the NFC. Green Bay wins Detroit in Week 18 to earn a wild card spot.
Then someone has to face Aaron Rodgers and a rejuvenated Packers in the first round of the postseason.
The Packers had five different players score touchdowns: one on special teams, one on defense, and three on offense.
A loss to the Eagles earlier in the day meant the Vikings, who were gunning for the No. 1 seed, fell to 12-4.
If the Vikings win, they win by a narrow margin, but if they lose, they are blown away. They set a record with 11 one-score wins this season. Their losses were 17, 37, 11 and now 24.
Today could have been worse.
The Vikings took a 3-0 lead, but it was less than satisfying as a blocked punt pushed them to the 1-yard line. They failed to get into the end zone with an imperfection from Kirk Cousins and his two Dalvin Cook runs.
It just got worse.
The Packers scored 41 in a row before the Vikings scored two in the fourth quarter.
Rodgers completed 15 of 24 for 159 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a touchdown. AJ Dillon and Robert Toyan had two other offensive touchdowns. Packers returner Keithean Nixon had a 105-yard kickoff return, while Packers safety Darnell Savage had a 75-yard pick 6.
Aaron Jones tallied 111 yards on 14 carries, surpassing 1,000 yards for the season.
Jaile Alexander covered Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson for most of the game, catching the league’s leading receiver once for 15 yards on five targets. Adam Thielen recorded his one catch for 16 yards.
The Cousins went 18/31 for 205 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. He also lost a fumble.
Adrian Amos and Rudy Ford also intercepted at Green Bay.
