Law enforcement sources told CNN that two buses of migrants were dropped off in front of Vice President Kamala Harris’s residence in Washington, D.C., on Christmas Eve when temperatures were 18 degrees Celsius. Sources say there was no organization or support group to greet them on the ground in front of the Naval Observatory, where the vice president lives.
“It looked like they needed to call a family member or someone else to pick them up, but they stood there shivering in blankets for the last five to ten minutes,” a law enforcement source said. said the muscle.
Another administration official confirmed the arrivals, saying law enforcement estimated that about 50 more migrants would arrive later in Christmas Eve, likely after 10 p.m. ET. Officials said the first two buses were taken to a local shelter.
It’s not clear who was responsible for sending the immigrants to the Naval Observatory, but CNN reported earlier this year that Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a bus of immigrants north, including a location outside Harris’ home. Reported.
Abbott is one of at least three Republican governors who have given credit to immigrants who have bused or flown north this year to protest the Biden administration’s immigration policies. He previously admitted in September that the state was sending buses to Harris’ residence at the time.
