A JetBlue flight from Barbados to New York was hit not only by a sharp drop in temperature on Saturday night, but when the plane was forced to evacuate at JFK International Airport because of a “smoking laptop.” rice field.

The plane had just rolled into Terminal 5 when an airline employee noticed an overheated computer, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

133 passengers were quickly evacuated from the plane, some opting for emergency chutes, the New York Port Authority told the Post.

A PANY spokesperson said 67 passengers escaped from the inflatable slide after several guests activated the emergency doors. The remaining passengers exited the jet bridge at Gate 29.

At around 9:00 p.m., a cabin attendant reported the fire, but extinguished it himself.

“He grabbed a fire extinguisher and was acting like O.J. Simpson on the seat and on the passenger.

Seven people suffered minor injuries, but none were taken to local hospitals.

PANY said the spark may have been caused by the laptop’s lithium battery, but the specific details of the fire are still under investigation.
