The Moscow Police Department of Idaho will hold a press conference Friday afternoon to announce progress in its investigation into the murders of four University of Idaho students.

Police announced a press conference at 1:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. ET) that police have responded to approximately 20,000 submissions through more than 9,025 emails, 4,575 phone calls, and 6,050 digital media submissions. It was the day after he said he had received information about 300 interviews for the four students murdered in their off-campus homes.

No suspects, motives, or weapons have been identified.

Students, Cary Goncalves, 21. Madison Morgen, 21 years old. Zana Karnodol, 20 years old. and Carnodle’s boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20. Officials said they were likely asleep when they were stabbed multiple times in the early hours of November 13. Some of the victims had defensive wounds, the coroner said.

The murder, the first in seven years, has shocked the small college town.

“Investigators believe someone has information that adds context to what happened on the night of the murder and continue to request additional photos, videos and social media content. The focus is on research, not the individual activity displayed in tips,” the update said.

Police say a search continues for a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra that was believed to have been near the house early in the morning of November 13.

The house where the killing took place will be cleared but remains an active crime scene under police custody, officials said Thursday.

Moscow police have worked with a property management service company to remove “potential biohazards and other harmful substances used in evidence collection,” the latest information said. The house will be handed over to a property management company.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
