LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with DUI in a fatal hit-and-run accident in downtown Las Vegas that killed two pedestrians.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the driver has been identified as Mykael Terrell, a 28-year-old Las Vegas resident.
Las Vegas police say two pedestrians were killed in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Fremont and Fourth Avenues around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.
In a news release, the LVMPD said evidence at the scene, eyewitness accounts and video surveillance of the crash showed the two men crossing the intersection against a “no crossing” pedestrian signal from east to west. I said yes.
The GMC Acadia of Burgundy driven by Terrell was driving north on 4th Avenue at the green light. Police say the crash occurred when the front of the Acadia struck two pedestrians.
After the accident, the vehicle fled the scene and never returned.
Arriving medical personnel declared the male victim dead at the scene, according to police.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identities of both victims, but Las Vegas police say the 44-year-old man was a resident of Monument, Minnesota, and the 51-year-old woman lived in Hobbes, New Mexico. said.
Acadia driver Terrell was “swiftly spotted by police” and taken into custody after showing signs of disability, the release said. She was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run charges.
