It may sound silly to say this a few months ago, but 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Raiders quarterback Jarrett Stidham just had a great quarterback duel.
Ultimately, however, it was a Stidham interception in overtime that set up the winning field goal for the 49ers in a 37–34 win.
Purdy completed 22 of 35 passes for 284 yards with 2 touchdowns, 1 interception and no sacks. It’s irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft.”
However, Stidham was also doing well and had a first start to his career. He completed his 23 of his 34 passes for 365 yards and had three touchdowns and his two interceptions, but the last interception came at a cost.
Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams made no secret of the fact that he was disappointed that Derek Carr was benched for Stidham. But Adams was a consummate pro, delivering a great game for Stidham, breaking through 150 receiving yards and making one of the NFL’s plays of the year this season with a stunning diving catch.
Christian McCaffrey broke through 100 yards in rushing yards and Brandon Ayuk broke 100 yards in receiving yards.
