Funviralpark Students from Notre Dame visited the rescue mission on December 21 and delivered five large bins containing coffee, pasta, sauces, canned soup and canned vegetables.
“Our campus ministry mission statement is: ‘With Jesus as our role model, we strive to improve the quality of life. “We have done relief work in Rome and Utica in the past. Utica Food Pantry, Mother Marianne’s Kitchen, Like Hope House in Utica.”
The Food Pantry will open in Fall 2021 at Notre Dame Middle/High School in Utica under the leadership of the Campus Ministry Team. They are dedicated to serving their Notre Dame families first, McQueen explains, and then reaching out to members of the community in need.
“We have a team of 20 students who oversee operations and store all student donations in our pantry year-round,” McQueen said. “I can say that our students are satisfied with what they have done since then.”
To donate to the Notre Dame Food Pantry, call McQueen at 315-724-5118 ext. 17 or email [email protected]. Canned foods, pastas, sauces and soups are best, and meats, cheeses, eggs, milk, etc. are not allowed due to lack of refrigeration.
