BAKERSFIELD, CA — The 7th Annual Grimway Farms Canned Food Drive recently donated over 7,300 pounds of food to families in need. In a show of incredible participation, families of Grimmway employees joined together to collect non-perishable foods in a friendly inter-departmental competition.This year, California and Georgia Foods He A total of 7,017 items were donated for his drives.
Goods collected from the food drive were donated to two local food banks. A total of £7,365 of items collected in California was donated to Khan’s Community Action Partnership (CAPK) and items collected in Georgia were donated to Second His Harvest in South Georgia. Grimmway also matched his 100% of all items donated by employees, doubling his impact on those in need.

South Georgia’s 26 county service areas have some of the highest food insecurity rates in the state. In California, Kern County consistently ranks number one among the nation’s most needy areas, with millions of residents battling food shortages each year.
