4 Cars Worth Total $300,000 Stolen In Manalapan Days Before Holiday

Manalapan, N.J.—Police urge residents to remove key fobs and all valuables from vacant vehicles and lock their doors after four car thefts occurred before Christmas I’m here.

Deputy Commissioner Leonard Maltese reported the following incidents, which resulted in losses totaling approximately $300,000:

• Tuesday, December 20: A 35-year-old Manalapan resident reported stealing an unlocked vehicle containing a key fob while parked at a residence on Newport Drive. The vehicle and its contents were valued at approximately $83,945. Patrolman De Cristofaro handled the report.
• Also December 20: A 40-year-old Manalapan resident reports that a person stole an unlocked vehicle with a key fob from a Kingsley Drive residence. The vehicle and its contents were valued at approximately $40,000. Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo received the report.
• Friday, December 16: A 27-year-old Manalapan resident found that a person was unsecured at some point between 8:30 pm on December 15 and 7:30 am on December 16. Reported entering the Deepwater Circle residence through a window and taking the item. A vehicle worth about $150,000. Patrolman William Dutton received the report.
• Thursday, December 15: An 85-year-old Manalapan resident said that between 4:30 p.m. I reported it stolen while it was parked. Bridge Boulevard. Patrolman Jeffrey Emsley was debriefed.

All four car thefts are being investigated by the police.

Meanwhile, on December 19th, a criminal act involving a car was reported. A 75-year-old Manalapan resident reported to police that earlier in December, Whitman attempted to remove two wheels and tires from a car parked at his drive-in residence. 15. Patrolman Ross Dessel received a report.
