Vector Sport and Isotta Fraschini have partnered to bring the British team to run the Italian constructor's factory hypercar program for the FIA World Endurance Championship. LMP2 team Vector has signed a "technical and sporting cooperation agreement" with Isotta, which is partnering with Michelotto to develop a hybrid-powered LMH car to race in the WEC's top category next season. . Isotta Fraschini is a Milan-based engineering company that built racing cars in the early 20th century. Vector made its WEC debut in the second tier prototype class in an Oreca 07 Gibson this year, but will now move on to the main hypercar division pending Isotta's entry being approved. “It was a great pleasure to shake hands with such great motorsport enthusiasts as Team Principal Gary Holland and Commercial Director Adam Shore,” said Claudio Fraschini Motorsport Managing Director. Bello said. “The various partners we may have come into contact with were all of high quality, but it was important to quickly find unity of clear purpose. "Vector Sport's experience with LMP2 during the 2022 season is a key point and we will be submitting our entry application for the FIA WEC in the coming days." Holland adds: “We know we all have a steep learning curve to compete against the big names in racing, but our expectations are realistic and our passion for success is boundless. “Isotta Fraschini has put together a formidable package of technical partners. If an invitation to compete is granted, we are confident that we will be on the sharp edge of the grid in no time.” Isotta Fraschini will make his WEC debut at the 6 Hours of Spa in late April as part of preparations for the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As Sportscar365 reported last month, Vector will remain in the LMP2 class in the Oreca program after finishing 10th in the team rankings this year.
