Two teenage boys were killed and 21 injured, four of them seriously.
In the first accident, a car carrying six people hit a guardrail on the north-south highway east of Hadera. Two of his teenagers, a 13-year-old and his 16-year-old, were murdered. His 38-year-old, the driver of the car, suffered minor injuries, as did his two other teenagers, a 13-year-old and his 16-year-old, and his 8-year-old boy.
Medical personnel transported the injured to the Hillel Jaffe Medical Center in Hadera for treatment. Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and crashed into a barrier.
In the second collision, two vans carrying passengers collided head-on at the Eyal interchange bridge over State Highway 6 near Kfar Sabah, about 25 kilometers south of the first accident.
17 people were injured, 4 seriously, 6 moderately and 7 slightly. The cause of the crash was not immediately apparent.
A portion of the highway was closed due to the collision.
Magen David Adom medical personnel who responded to the initial crash site said: We tried to save them, but unfortunately there were no signs of life and we were forced to declare them dead within a short period of time. "
A woman died Saturday after two cars collided on Route 90 near the northern town of Kiryat Shmona. The crash apparently caused the victim's car to hit a roadside security barrier and crush it.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the driver, a woman in her 20s, unconscious and in critical condition. Paramedics declared her dead at the scene after unsuccessfully resuscitating her, the MDA said.
A second car was found on the side of the road. The driver, a 59-year-old man, suffered a chest injury and was taken to Jib Medical Center in Safed in a minor condition.
