For the fourth time, a fed-up interior designer has seen the front of a co-op supermarket demolished by cars rolling down a hill from the parking lot. Anita De-Vine's store in Baildon, West Yorkshire, was repeatedly damaged by a vehicle after it was sprinted down the road with a failed handbrake. The most recent accident occurred earlier this month, breaking a window at a Baildon Interiors store. A "frustrated" De-Vine warns that if the co-op doesn't do more to address the issue, "it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt." read more: Unarmed police chase man with revolver near elementary school

The co-op has added signs urging people using the parking lot to apply the handbrake firmly. However, De-Vine contacted the supermarket to remove three spaces along the front of the store just above the ramp. She said: 'It's ridiculous to have a parking lot at the top of a ramp leading to a busy road. "I have raised the issue with the co-op to try and fix the parking situation to minimize the chances of cars going off the ramp and injuring pedestrians and drivers. "We understand that the driver is responsible for applying the handbrake, but it continues to happen. "There is a steep slope from the parking lot to the main road." read more: Man dies two weeks after house fire killed fiancée

Regarding recent incidents, De-Vine added: De-Vine said it was the fourth accident in the last 22 years and "a serious accident waiting to happen". She said she hopes the co-op will pay attention to a pedestrian before it hits one of the cars. Bradford Council has contacted the Baildon Co-operative to discuss the situation.
