New Delhi: Cricketer Rishab Pant had a narrow escape route on Friday morning when the Mercedes he was driving caught fire after crashing into a partition. A 25-year-old cricketer had to break a window to escape a burning car.

Here are the details of the Mercedes SUV Rishab Pant was driving.

  1. Rishabh Pant was driving a Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4MATIC Coupe. This car was sold in India from 2017 to 2020 for just under $100,000 (ex showroom) before being replaced with a newer model.

  2. This SUV/coupe hybrid has a 3-liter V6 bi-turbo engine mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol engine can push out 362 BHP and 520 Nm of peak torque.

  3. The powerful vehicle goes from 0-100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.

  4. The car was sold as a fully assembled unit (CBU) in India. That is, it was not imported to India and manufactured or assembled here.

  5. Like most Mercedes vehicles, the AMG GLE 43 4MATIC Coupe is also equipped with safety technology and features such as seven airbags, traction control and all-wheel drive.
