Georgia deputy shot to death in crashed car, police searching for possible 2nd vehicle

A man found shot dead in the driver's seat of his car on a road in northwestern Atlanta has been identified as a Fulton County delegate.

Officers were called to the scene around 4:30 a.m. Thursday after reports of the shooting, FOX 5 Atlanta reports. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the crashed car with the victim still inside. Officers then cordoned off the area to investigate the shooting.

A camera that arrived at the scene soon after was able to see the body of a man sitting in the driver's seat of a silver car that had been parked on the road.

Investigators have not released the deputy's name, but say he was a young man who worked for the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.
