Cop catches would-be thieves prowling into cars in Atlanta parking deck – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Several teens were arrested after police said they were searching an empty parked car.

It happened at 123 Marietta Street on December 14th.

Atlanta police officers were about to call when they saw a group of teens watching his every move while walking down the street.

Police say the group kept looking back at the officer as he drove in the opposite direction to the next call.

The teens were seen standing in front of the parking deck entrance, wearing face coverings and gloves. He said he decided to go ahead and returned to the parking deck to investigate.

Upon arriving at the office, he began patrolling the parking deck, not seeing the teens at first.

When the officers went upstairs, they saw the same group of teenagers peering into an empty parked car.

Authorities said the teenagers fled as soon as they spotted police, who were able to detain one of them.

When another officer arrived, they were able to find other teenagers near the State Farm Arena. Officers also found one gun.

All teenagers will be arrested and charged with obstruction by loitering, loitering, and escaping. One of his teenage boys was charged with possessing a firearm by a minor.

The teens were given a copy of the indictment and released to their guardians.
